Childhood Obesity

With 17% of adolescents being obese, childhood obesity has become a major issue locally and nationally. In this Stay Tuned episode, panelists that include dietitians, cooks, and community organizers will explain the environmental impact of choosing healthier lifestyles and discuss the multidisciplinary action that is necessary in ending childhood obesity in the United States. Learning to prepare healthier food choices at school and at home will have a major impact in increasing sustainable lifestyles for American youth.

We tend to underestimate the power of place. The setting in which kids and families spend most of their time have a powerful influence on the choices we make around activity and nutrition and other health behaviors.” – Monty Roulier
